Fintech is innovating at a pace that is difficult for regulators to keep up with. Much of the fintech space exists in a regulatory grey area that is dangerous to the government, consumers, and companies.

The panel discussed how historically regulation has been a long process, like regulating the automobile industry. Today, however, technology has dramatically sped up the rate at which new industries and technology are adopted. Regulation exists but it can be difficult for companies to figure out how effectively to apply it to be legally in the clear. The panel discussed ways forward and how to avoid grey areas.
